Two-time Premier League Golden Boot winner Mohamed Salah unsurprisingly features as the league’s highest-paid African player. The Liverpool forward reportedly earns around €200 000 (R3.1 million) per week with the European champions, which is also the eighth-most for any player in England’s top-flight.
Arsenal hitman Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang follows closely behind in second place, with the Gabon international said to be earning an impressive €157 500 (R2.4 million) per week at the Emirates stadium.
Liverpool’s Sadio Mane and Naby Keita join teammate Salah in the top five, with the former earning €150 000 (R2.3 million)* and the latter €120 000 (R1.8 million). The pair are separated by Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha who is the league’s fourth-highest-paid African with a weekly salary of €130 000 (R2 million).
